Rehearsal Plan Overview

Potential Rehearsal Plan:

 

November 3rd (5pm-7pm):

 

Main Goal: Introductions and Bonding

Main Warm Up: Physical stretching and vocal exercises

In Rehearsal Exercises: Read through with no expression

Cool Down: Roses, thorns, and buds

 

November 10th (5pm-7pm):

 

Main Goal: Block the first 7 pages.

Main Warm Up: Conversation using only sounds. 8 count shake down

Cool Down: Breathing and taking in the space.

 

November 11th (6:30-8pm):

 

Main Goal: Review blocking of 7 pages and character development

Main Warm Up: Analyzing then stepping into your character,

In Rehearsal Exercises: Backstory – Where do you come from? Why are you there? How do you know each other? What’s your home life like?

Cool Down: Discuss important dates and responsibilities.

 

November 12th (4:30-6pm):

 

Main Goal: Off book for pages 1-7 block pages 8-end as well as Context and Commentary

Main Warm Up: Movement– pace, posture, urgency,

In Rehearsal Exercises: For diction – Tongue Twister facing each other, each time take three steps back until they are both no longer in the theatre.

Cool Down: What is the future like?

 

November 17th  (5pm-7pm):

 

Main Goal: Off book for full play + Exploring the space

Main Warm Up: Milling and Seething?

In Rehearsal Exercises: Do a run of the play with the lights off – make the space foreign again.

Cool Down: Roses, Thornes, ans Buds for Break

 

November 29th (8pm-9pm): 

 

Main Goal: Justification: Clear intentions, reasoning, and speech.

Main Warm Up: Working with verbs. When discussing reasons for movement, think about life 50 years in the future, and the attention span and interests that teenagers would have.

In Rehearsal Exercises: Point the flashlight first, then move to where you’re going.

Cool Down: Conversation about legacy, ancestry, family, history, and culture.

 

December 1st (3pm-4pm and 5pm-6pm):

 

Main Goal: Ending – Hope, Optimism, Magic

Main Warm Up: Atmospheres

In Rehearsal Exercises: Working on pacing – counting beats in head between lines. 

Cool Down: Final decisions regarding costume and hair.

 

December 2nd (12pm-1pm):

 

Main Goal: Final tweaks

Main Warm Up: Atmospheres

In Rehearsal Exercises: Introduce finalized props, find something new in the space.

Cool Down: Lay on the floor– breathe concepts in and out

 

December 4th – Wet Tech (12-6):

 

Main Goal: Run with effects

Main Warmup: Check Ins

 

December 5th and 6th – Shows
