Cam learns a lot from Jamie but gets slightly jealous when Jamie talks about her grandmother. Cam doesn’t have much of a family at home, just her mom. Due to this fact, at the start of the play, Cam is not aware of the importance of ancestry or historical appreciation, but when Jamie begins to teach her about theatre she discovers her sense of creativity and passion for the performing arts. Despite Cam’s troubled past, exploring and learning about the theatre gives Cam optimism for the future. It won’t be the last time that Cam visits this theatre.
